The goal of the youth choir, with choir directory Fran Leddy, is to give children in this age group an opportunity to sing with other singers, to enjoy working with a musical team, to gain an appreciation for choral music, to healthily train the voice, and to have an opportunity to perform for an audience within the safety of a group.
There will be a simple, non-threatening audition for entrance into this choir. No preparation is needed. Auditions will be held starting at 4:00 on Tuesday, September 8, and again on Tuesday, September 15, upstairs in the WCA Creative Learning Center. We will start rehearsals on September 22. When accepted into the choir, there will be a $50.00 fee which covers the entire fall semester, sheet music included. Later, we will get a choir t-shirt at a minimal fee to serve as a uniform.
