OUR INSTRUCTORS
William Hagerman
Oil Painting Classes for All Levels
William Hagerman became a professional artist at the age of 13, selling one of his first paintings to a neighbor, then to another neighbor, school teachers, a piano teacher and by the age of 15 was showing in an art gallery. Thirty plus years later William has never put down the brush and continues to paint beautiful landscape imagery that delights the senses.
In addition to his own personal studies, William has benefited from artists and non artists alike with several artists of distinction providing guidance early on in his artistic development such as: C.L. Curry, Dalhart Windberg, Robert Pummill and Gary Carter. William also acknowledges the late Tom Ryan for his critiques as well as Wilson Hurly for providing a bibliography of recommended books to further his study of art and the late Gary Griffin for his knowledge of art materials and his wife Judy for her trained artistic eye.
William also enjoys teaching and sharing his artistic knowledge through art classes and workshops.
He currently resides in Winnsboro, Texas with his wife Rita.

Kaye Jackson
Colored Pencil for All Levels
Kaye Jackson was born in Farmersville, Texas, and has also lived in Denton and Austin. She moved from Austin to Winnsboro in 2014 to get away from the congestion and busyness of the rapidly growing city.
Kaye started painting in 1980 when she met a painting instructor who taught classes at North Texas University in Denton. Kaye professed that she had not developed the skills of an artist, but the instructor promised her, “If you give me six weeks, it’ll be in your blood forever.” And so, the six-week painting course started Kaye on her artistic journey.
Kaye has attended workshops with prominent artists such as Dalhart Windberg and Mark Keathley but she is mostly self-taught. She enjoys watercolor, colored pencil, and oil painting. She is a nurse by trade, artist at heart. Art has been a comfort during difficult times, especially filling a void when her husband passed. Art has also been an outlet of creativity for Kaye amidst the busyness of being a wife and mother.
Kaye started teaching classes in 1996 and we are happy to have her teaching at Winnsboro Center for the Arts.
