JDarrell Kirkley is a retired director, producer, artist, and photographer with more than 45 years in the film and video industry. A lifelong artist, he has studied under renowned artists and attended live drawing classes at SMU.

His artwork has earned more than 60 awards, including 10 First Place ribbons at the State Fair of Texas. His painting A Tribute to 9/11 was presented to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2001, and he received a commendation from the Dallas City Council for his contribution honoring 9/11.

JDarrell has illustrated three books, holds two U.S. patents, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Poetry Society of Texas. He is passionate about teaching drawing and enjoys helping students of all skill levels develop their artistic abilities and confidence.
