Bettine Godwin is an accomplished East Texas artist, educator, and gallery owner whose work is known for its bold color, expressive brushwork, and dynamic sense of movement. Having spent part of her childhood in Brazil, Argentina, and England, she developed an appreciation for diverse cultures and artistic perspectives at an early age.

After moving to Houston, Bettine studied architecture and art at the University of Houston, where she also produced architectural renderings for professional designers. Although largely self-taught as a fine artist, she has mastered a variety of mediums, including acrylic, oil, watercolor, gouache, and pastel.

While Bettine’s artistic talent was evident from an early age, it was during college that painting truly became her calling. Profoundly inspired and encouraged by Pat, her college sweetheart, now her husband; she pursued her passion wholeheartedly. More than the love of her life, he has been her steadfast partner, best friend, and constant source of encouragement.

Bettine is the owner of Pine Cabin Gallery in Hemphill, Texas, where she has inspired countless students through workshops and art instruction while exhibiting her original artwork. Her paintings have been featured in galleries and art festivals throughout Texas, and she continues to share her passion for painting by encouraging artists of all skill levels to develop confidence, creativity, and their own unique artistic voice.
