Yummy Yin and Restorative Thai Workshop
August 26 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am
August is hot. Let’s slow down and allow gravity and breath to do all the work. We will dive into a yoga practice where we are supported by props so that we can recharge our bodies, minds and souls. Yin Yoga works deeply into our body with passive, longer held poses as we stress connective tissues – think ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body and meridians. This intentional stress allows our bodies to better handle stress in our daily lives. Energetically, Yin Yoga improves energy flow throughout the body including the organs while pausing in the poses help us to remember to breathe when we get in a sticky spot in life.
We will contrast the Yin Yoga practice with some sweet Restorative Yoga which also leans on the support of props yet in a way that causes no stress. We relax, reset and renew without strain, so that we can achieve complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. Restorative Yoga induces the parasympathetic nervous system which slows the heartbeat, softens the breath and increases the blood flow to your internal organs. Think rest and digest. You will also get a boost of immunity and all the good feels after an opportunity to release emotions that have been stored in the body. By slowing down and breathing we can feel, release and create new space.
Dani will also be offering hands on Thai Yoga Assists throughout both the Yin and Restorative practice. Dani is a Thai Yoga BodyWorker and is also certified in Reiki. Her hands on assists will guide you throughout your practice to sink deeper into the slumber of relaxation.
