Walt Wilkins chose to go full-time as a performer 25 years ago. Wilkins describes it as being a spiritual quest, an amazing trip, heartbreaking, and transcendent. During his career, Wilkins has made nine solo records, four records with The Mighty Mystiqueros, a record with his wife, and a new live record with Kevin Welch. He has had over 100 songs recorded by other artists, traveled a fair part of the world, and had some large times. He enjoys time spent with his brothers, The Mystiqueros, at The Saxon Pub in Austin, the first Sunday of every month at Luckenbach, The Red River Songwriters Festival on the last weekend of January in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and Waltstock & Barrel, a Texas wine, beer & music festival near Fredericksburg on the first weekend of April.
Wilkins works with other inspiring artists on their records including Ron Flynt at his Jumping Dog Studio in Autin. He plays all over Texas and as much of the United States as he can and even some of Europe. He describes his second home as being in the Netherlands.
