Meanwhile in Winnsboro

When Sofia Talvik was here in March she said she’d been working on a song about Winnsboro but hadn’t finished it. Now with nowhere to go but still creating music, she has completed the song. It’s special for our town at this time.

On the page she says:
“My concert at Winnsboro Center For The Arts was one of the last ones I did before the corona virus shut everything down – including my tour. We had arrived early that day in Winnsboro, TX, and it all seemed so peaceful compared to the headlines that were shouting at me every time I opened my phone. In Winnsboro the birds were singing and the trees were full of blossoms. The air was sweet and you would never know what was going on in the rest of the world.

I wrote the song without prejudice or judgement. It is merely a reflection of the situation I have found myself in, being on tour in a different country, far away from my family, watching news about people hoarding toilet paper and food like there is no tomorrow. A small testament to the times.”
