Harpeth Rising is going to blow you away! These three classically trained musicians are true genre-benders, from soulful ballads to rousing bluegrass, they entertain!
"From breathtaking energy to intimate connection, their live performances are kinetic events in which their passions and their abilities are equaly displayed. Harpeth Rising can create a listening room from a rowdy bar crowd, and can inspire even the weariest audiences. After only a few months as a band, they embarked on a tour of England, which included a performance with the Bath Philharmonic."
"Despite the presence of only three stringed instrumentss on stage, Harpeth Rising produces a profusion of sound generally created by a much larger ensemble. Di Meglio, cello, transitions fluidly between providing the bass line and taking the melodic lead. Reed-Lunn's highly origial style of claw hammer banjo learned mainly by watching YouTube - is both suprisingly lyrical and intensely thriving. Greenberd takes on the role of concert violinist and accompanist with equal facility, and ensure that a lead guitar is never missed."
Missing in these quotes is a reference to their voices. Greenberg's solos are pure and melodic. When the others join is the harmony is flawless! The song "The Sparrow", written by Greenberg and her father, provides an excellent example - along with an incredible violin solo.
After the opening wistful sounds of this Beatle's cover, the closing notes of "Norweigian Wood" will take you to the other extreme of their high energy sounds.
And if you need any more convincing listen to the nostalgic mix of banjo and violin in "Abraham".
